Around here, knowledge, experiences, successes and even the occasional mistakes are shared openly as we explore how old ways of livin’ can still have a place in today’s modern world.
You don’t need chickens in the yard, a wood fired stove in the kitchen, or dreams of full self-sufficiency to feel at home here. Maybe you just want to grow a few herbs on the balcony, bake your own bread, create more meaningful moments with your family, teach your kids where food comes from, explore your cultural roots, or simply slow life down a notch.
Here at Alhaga, I believe there’s real value in creating more and consuming less, learning new skills, sharing what we know and finding joy in the small steps forward. None of us have all the answers, but together we can discover new paths toward a more sustainable and down to earth way of life.

Who’s behind Alhaga homestead?
Behind Alhaga homestead is me, Fredrik, a nature-loving soul with a background in parks and landscape maintenance and a lifelong fascination with gardening, cultural heritage, and self-sufficiency.
What started as a personal interest back in my early teenage years has slowly grown into a place where experiences, experiments, successes and failures are shared with you who are also interested in exploring a simpler life closer to nature.
I’m not an expert. I’m not a full-time homesteader. I’m just a regular fella who’s tryin’ to learn a little more each day and who thinks there’s something mighty special about sharing that journey with others.
Around here, there are no perfect answers or one size fits all solutions. We learn together, one step at a time, discoverin’ how old knowledge can still find its place in modern life.
