Clean Sea was sparked by twins Lukas and Mikaela Julher, who’ve summered along Sweden’s west coast since they were knee high to a grasshopper. Their love for the sea bloomed early with swims, crab hunts, and strolls on the Bohus coast’s rocky beauty. But one day, they stumbled on a gut punch sight, a cove in Ramsvikslandet nature reserve drowned in plastic. That shock lit the fuse for their mission to save the seas.​ I grew up roamin’ that same Bohuslän coast myself, scramblin’ over them grand cliffs as a young’un, so I reckon I know just how they feel deep in my bones.

Since 2019, Clean Sea’s been laborin’ mighty hard to halt ocean plastic from harm’in marine life and keep Sweden’s coastlines pristine and pretty. Their grit ain’t gone unnoticed, they even snagged the prestigious Änglamark prize in 2022. Puttin’ it right back to haulin’ more plastic from the shores.​

To date, Clean Sea’s yanked over 60 tons of ocean trash. That’s a heap of good done! But they ain’t restin’ on laurels. They’re set on pullin’ even bigger loads from Sweden’s coast each year, and they need fired up folks like you to lend a hand.​
